My cpu does not have a usb c socket, my monitor is usb c. If i connect my monitor to one of vobots usb c’s and i connect a hdmi display cable to the display port to my cpu, would it be possible to connect the external monitor to my cpu?
Or just buy and use a HDMI to Type-C /DP to Type-C connector cable.

Your computer does not have a USB C slot, which means your computer interface does not support display alt mode. Only when it supports this mode can the video stream be output to the HDMI interface. So none of your solutions can connect an external monitor to your computer.

My computer has an extra 4k hdmi display port, just not a usb c port. Also a mini display port - which i use for VR.

Only the computer port on the side of the Mini Dock (USB-C port with COMPUTER) supports video input, and other ports do not support video input.
Only if your computer has a USB-C port and supports display alt mode can you connect an external monitor to the HDMI port of the Mini Dock.
