Hello, my HP ProBook 430 G8 use a 65W USB-C original power supply.
When I attach to Vobot Mini Dock COMPUTER USB-C (up to 90W) with his orginal power supply, it doesnt’ charge the battery but I can see the dual screen and USB Ethernet adapter.
If I power the Vobot Mini Dock with the original HP power supply (65 W), it works and charge the battery.
Any idea? Theoretically, the original power supply should be 90/100 W.
Hi,
Thank you for contacting us and providing such detailed information about your setup.
Based on your description, it appears that the data and display functions are working correctly, but there is an issue with the Power Delivery (PD) handshake when using our 100W adapter. To help us pinpoint whether this is a compatibility issue with the charging protocol or a hardware fault with the adapter itself, could you please perform a simple test for us?
Please try the following:
-
Disconnect all external peripherals (monitors, Ethernet, etc.) from the Mini Dock.
-
Use our 100W power adapter to power the Mini Dock alone.
-
Check if the LCD screen and RGB lights on the Vobot Mini Dock function normally.
Results:
- If the LCD and RGB lights stay off: This indicates that the 100W adapter may be defective. In this case, please let us know, and we will arrange a replacement adapter for you immediately.
- If the LCD and RGB lights work perfectly: This suggests the adapter is functional. The issue might be a protocol handshake mismatch between the HP ProBook’s specific charging requirements and the dock’s PD controller when high-wattage charging is requested.
Please let us know the outcome of this test, and we will take the next necessary steps to ensure your setup works as expected.
Looking forward to your reply.
